From pain to performance.
Our physiotherapists at Elite Health and Performance are here to take you from pain to performance or whatever your goals may entail. Physiotherapy is a treatment form based around progressing you through rehabilitation whether it be form acute or chronic injury or even just to enhance your biomechanical movement capabilities to best bulletproof your body for the demands of your daily life.
How does it work?
Our Physiotherapists at Elite HP use a combination of soft tissue techniques and rehabilitation strategies to aid you in the process. Soft tissue techniques used to help improve function and range of motion in muscles, ligaments or tendons commonly used at Elite HP include Active Release Technique, dry needling and some joint mobilisation. We find that best results are achieved in combining these soft tissue techniques along with an exercise or rehabilitation program to help you achieve your goals.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need imaging before my first visit?
You do not need imaging at your first visit. In most cases examination and at least some treatment can be undertaken without imaging. If you do have imaging related to your injury feel free to bring that for your therapist to look at. Alternatively after examination if your therapist thinks you will need some imaging they can help refer you.
Will I get treated my first visit?
At Elite HP we do like to service treatment on your initial consult. After a thorough history and examination your therapist will explain to you and begin treatment.
Can I use my private health for my appointment fee?
At Elite HP we do have HICAPS and if you have private health that covers physiotherapy in your extras we can absolutely use that with your appointment fee.
Will I need to do exercises forever?
All cases are different but the aim is to continually upgrade your rehabilitation exercises if that’s what you require until you are physically equipped to meet the demands of your sport, exercise routine or goals. The expectation is not to be doing many hours of pure rehabilitation exercises every day for the rest of your life.
How long will it take for my injury to get fixed?
Dependent on your injury and the severity of your injury will be directly correlated for how long it takes for you to recover. One thing is for certain seeking professional therapy and expert advice on how to manage your injury the best will result in not only a quicker but better outcome for the future.
Will I need to keep being treated?
At Elite HP our goal is to find the source and cause of the injury and rehabilitate that in the best way possible to reduce the chances of reoccurrence. Our goal is to get you back to your training or goals as quickly and safely as possible, although in our vast clinical experience we can note that regular treatment can keep you moving optimally.
